08-12-19 A League Launton 4 v 4 BAMPTON

Launton 4 v 4 Bampton

A couple of call offs today saw us have to swap things around a bit and try some players in unfamiliar positions. It's always interesting to see how the teams react to this.
At times today, we played the best football I have seem any team play.Coming forward, we were breath taking, playing fast, forward football. We were getting the ball up the field in two of three clever passes, cutting the opposition apart. Our passing in midfield was our best so far.

We have been working on getting the ball forward quicker and more direct towards goal, and we are beginning to see great success here.

Joe was called to make some done saves, which he did, diving to push the ball past the post a couple of times. Charlie and Alfie were brilliant in new positions, playing left and right back. They defended with power and pace but got forward to great success. We rotated Lachy, Nathan and Thomas in the 2 advanced midfield roles and their linking up with front three was superb, playing some lovely football both through the middle and on both wings.

4-2 up going into the final stages of the game and in total control, we seemed to turn off, stopped working hard and making challenges and let the opposition back into the game. We managed to hold on for a draw.

Still some work to be done on our teams journey but at times today and last week, we showed how good we are when everyone is totally committed to the win.

Man of the Match

Elias Easterbrook

Elias was brilliant today. We have been working on being more direct and not having to beat players 2 or 3 times before getting the ball into the box, when he does this, he is unplayable and creates so much for us.
